Reflexology
Restoring the body's natural balance

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-intrusive therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with clients and aim to promote better health. Reflexologists do not cure or diagnose.

Reflexology is tailored to the client's needs, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting their wellbeing. Some people find it works for them — some don't. The best way to find out is to try it!

More information about reflexology can be found on the Association of Reflexologists website, where our professional membership is listed.

How it works

Reflexology helps the body to restore its balance naturally. Usually, after a treatment tension may be reduced and the client might feel relaxed. Aiding better quality sleep, mood and sense of wellbeing improved. Other aspects improve too; however, this happens on an individual basis.

Benefits

Reflexology can be a wonderfully relaxing experience where the client can take time out from everyday stressors. The therapy can help with relaxation which can help improve mood, aid sleep and relieve tension. The result is an overall sense of wellbeing.

Treatment

During a typical reflexology session a detailed lifestyle/health history will be taken. The client will be asked to remove footwear and sessions are usually performed in a comfortable chair or couch. A visual and tactile examination of the feet will be taken before beginning the reflexology treatment. Appropriate pressure is applied to the feet using the thumb and fingers.
